It is indicated for shock, acute stage of infection, allergic reactions, rheumatic illness, pre/postop treatment, adrenocortical insufficiency, as an anti-inflammatory agent in eye disorders, cerebral oedema, differential diagnosis of Cushing’s syndrome, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, in pregnancy to prevent RDS in the newborn.
