Increased vitamin B12 requirements: Increased vitamin B12 requirements associated with pregnancy, thyrotoxicosis, hemolytic anemia, hemorrhage, malignancy and hepatic and renal disease.

Unlabeled use : Cyanocobalamine has been used to prevent and to treat cyanide toxicity associated with sodium nitroprusside. It lowers red blood cell and plasma cyanide concentrations by combing with cyanide to form cyancobalamine, which is nontoxic and excreted in the urine.
